Speakers Bio

  • Bob Davies

  • Bob Davies is a professional speaker, author, trainer, and coach.  Using his unique background in sports psychology, coaching olypmic athletes, college football and wrestling, Bob developed a ground breaking training program for the world of corporate coaching.

While head football coach, wrestling coach, and researcher at California Institute of Technology, Bob began to study the work of Roger Sperry, Nobel peace prize winner for his research of the right and left brain.  These studies informed the development of the performance enhancement techniques he has used throughout his sports and corporate coaching careers.

Bob left Cal Tech in 1979 for an assistant football coaching position at California State University Fullerton where his techniques helped an average football team to win two conference championships.

While at CSUF, the coaching staff was faced with the problem that every team on the schedule had better athletes. The only way to win would be to perform at the highest level of talent that they had, and hope to catch other teams performing at a lower level. That is exactly what happened. Together as a staff, the coaches developed a "template" to enable average athletes to tap into their potential. Just about every coach on that original staff has gone on to take these techniques to a higher level.  Steve Mariucci went on to the Green Bay Packers, where he helped a cast off quarterback, named Brett Farve, to become all NFL MVP.
Jerry Brown went on to Northwestern, where he helped them rise from the basement to a Big Ten title, and play in the 1995 Rose bowl.

Bob himself, is a perfect example of the results of implementing the concepts of this keynote. Bob grew up in poverty, raised by a single parent who never graduated from high school. Bob got involved in athletics, where an influential coach helped him break free of the "poverty mentality" by becoming a source of inspiration, hope, and accountability.

Bob holds the highest credential available in the field of certified personal and professional coaching, Master Certified Coach. He has served on the board of the International Coaches Federation, the governing body for coaches, and currently sits on the "ARC" committee, the committee that reviews candidates for credentials.  Many companies are using the techniques in this program to change the culture of their companies and to greatly increase performances.

Hunt Real Estate, in Buffalo NY, is using these principles throughout their 900 agent real estate firm. They have reported a 38% increase in production the first year of using these techniques.

Select Family of Staffing Companies, a recruiting and temporary placement firm, is using these techniques throughout their organization and have doubled the results of over 160 sales people. They are in their 10th year of using this system that has helped them to grow from a 500 million dollar company to a 1.2 billion enterprise.

Bob Davies has authored three books, including "The Sky is Not The Limit-You Are!", "Coaching for High Performance", and his newest book, "The 1.2% Factor-the science of how the small change of accountability leads to large results."
