Speakers Bio

Brian Mueller joined Grand Canyon University in 2008, and brings over 25 years of teaching, enrollment, and leadership experience in higher education to his position of Chief Executive Officer.
Prior to joining the University, Brian served as the Chief Operating Officer and Senior Vice President of the Online Campus for the University of Phoenix (UoP) from May 1997 to March 2002, after having previously spent 10 years serving the University of Phoenix in various capacities ranging from Enrollment Advisor to Enrollment Director to Vice President and Campus Director. In March 2002, he was promoted to Chief Executive Officer of the Online Campus for the University of Phoenix where he oversaw the growth of the online campus from 3,500 to over 170,000 before becoming Chief Operating Officer for the Apollo Group, Inc. in December 2005. He spent a brief month as Chief Operating Officer before being named President in January 2006. During his tenure with the Apollo Group, Inc. he oversaw the growth of the institution to UoP’s current 330,000 students.
Mr. Mueller earned his Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education and Master of Education from Concordia University (Nebraska).
