Speakers Bio

With the insight gained from a traumatic brain injury which paralyzed this couple and their family, Scott and Joan Bolzan speak with a mixture of inspiration, humor and true passion.  This is a true story of commitment, perseverance and a family building a new life and new love that will challenge your mind and touch your heart.

As a former NFL player, pilot and owner/entrepreneur of a successful private aviation company, Scott has preserved through enormous life challenges and defeats but a recent traumatic brain injury has set a new uncharted course of personal adversity.  To this day, Scott deals with the sudden loss of his entire 46 years of memory yet he understands the importance of moving forward in light of adversity and daily challenges.  Scott faces each day with only the new memories he has since the days after his accident on December 17, 2008.   His courageous journey of facing an unknown world, wife of 25 years and family will impact you at your core.

Joan who has been comfortable in the supporting role of wife and mother while working as an RN and marketing director was instantly thrust into the lead role of her husband’s business and family with the news of Scott’s injury.  Though each tragedies this family has encountered over the years she has stood strong to support and move through obstacles relying on her key personal values, learned leadership strategies and unending love for her family.  Joan’s valuable story breaks new barriers of a wife and mother who embraced her new role and continually challenges herself and her family to use insight to take key action steps necessary for their success.
